What is Better Together?

Better Together is more than a discussion group. It is a weekly commitment to growth, accountability and connection across the adoption constellation. Participants can expect to:

• Show up in a community where learning is encouraged through honest and sometimes difficult conversations.

• Explore topics surrounding adoption including identity, belonging, openness, race, grief, boundaries, cultural connection and the lifelong impact of adoption.

• Experience a sense of camaraderie, within a supportive community, while navigating similar fears, doubts, questions and moments of joy.

• Learn from the lived experience and professional knowledge of adoptees and birth/first parents.

Who Can Join

Better Together welcomes:

• Adoptive parents who have completed at least one of our Conscious Adoption courses

• Adult adoptees who are part of Adoption Mosaic’s consultant and training team and who have previously been invited as guest speakers

• Birth/first parents who participate in consultant, trainer or guest speaker roles within Adoption Mosaic

If you have completed a Conscious Adoption course and are seeking continued learning and community support, we would love to have you join us.

Affinity Breakout Spaces

• Adoptive Parents Room for adoptive parents parenting children of any age who want space to connect with others navigating similar questions, challenges and stages of life.

• Seasoned Parents Room for adoptive parents who are parenting older or adult adoptees and who are exploring long term relationship dynamics, boundaries, identity and continued learning.

• Adoptees and Birth/First Parents Room for Adoption Mosaic consultants, trainers and other professionals who have previously served as guest speakers, all of whom bring lived experience, professional insight and deep understanding of adoption to the conversation.

These affinity rooms are entirely optional, offering participants the flexibility to engage at the level that feels right each week.

Monthly Guest Speakers

At the last meeting of each month, we welcome a guest speaker. These guests may be adoptees, adoption competent professionals or individuals with meaningful lived experience within our community. Once someone has served as a guest speaker, they are welcome to join future groups based on availability. If you are an adoptee and interested in being featured, please reach out.

Better Together reminds us that none of us has to navigate adoption alone. With consistency, openness and a willingness to learn, we strengthen our relationships and the connections across the adoption constellation.

Cost

Participation is free for adoptees and birth/first parents who attend in their professional roles with Adoption Mosaic.

The cost for adoptive parents and other non adoptee participants is 100 dollars per month, which includes all weekly meetings. Compared with our standard consultation rate of $150 per hour, this comes to approximately 25 dollars per session.
